2 bedroom house + office with large garden, entire garden walled in. Upper-class neighborhood in Marseille: Saint Barnabé. 5 minute walk to cafés, restaurants, shops, markets, parks, pool, etc. 10 min drive to down town Marseille (car, bus or metro) 20 minute drive to beaches. 30 minute drive to Aix-en-Provence, 1.5 hour drive to Alpes, 2 hour drive to Cannes. Daily ferries to islands and Corsica. Fresh fish market on Old Port.

Where

Marseille is a Mediterranean city and a port town in full bloom. A very laid-back city, you will feel relaxed here. People follow the Mediterranean rhythm of long lunches and siestas! Open markets with fresh veggies, fruits and regional products (olives, honey, nougat, cheese) are easy to find. Amazing markets with casual clothing, the best priced in France! With the sea breeze and the occasional Mistral winds, the air is very clean for a big city.

Why

Our house is a perfect location to discover Marseille, as well as Provence and the Lubéron region of France. In quiet neighborhood with metro and bus less than 5 minutes walk away. Car available to you. City beaches 20 minutes drive, other beaches less than 40 min. Walks in the "calanques" (the sea cliffs), picnics in Provence, visits to small village are just 30 minutes away. A 3 hour TGV train Marseille-Paris. Due to the sea, Marseille stays cooler in summer than in-land towns like Aix.
